Matt Lauer
Matt Lauer is an anchor for NBC News on the "Today Show". He has a seriousness but lightheartedness to him. He likes to have fun on the morning show, but is serious when need be. He got his start with NBC News as a fill-in anchor on the "Today Show". He became a regular in 1994 where he told all kinds of national and international news stories. The audience he broadcasts to is mainly adult Democrats that watch the news show every morning to start their day. He is on the morning show for the purpose of sharing news stories with the American public. The stories that he shares through the morning program are national and international new stories, some being very serious and others being about non-important events such as the Oscars or the Met Gala. Lauer has a serious but light-hearted tone. He is serious and formal, but if the news story isn't too formal he makes jokes with his co-anchors and has a more happy informal tone.
